Competition rules

Participants will be tasked with peeling 100 roses, which will be provided in sealed bags by the judges. Should this year's production be reduced, the judges may alter the total number of roses to be peeled. Each contestant will start with a maximum of 20 points for speed and 20 points for cleanliness, with penalties applied for various infractions, such as leaving parts of the rose unpeeled or discarding roses.

In the event of a tie, contestants will compete by peeling 50 roses or fewer, depending on production levels, with the contestant taking the least time being declared the winner. The judges will determine the number of rounds based on the number of participants, with a maximum of 12 participants per round if space allows.

Local phase restrictions

The local phase is exclusively for residents of Consuegra. If multiple rounds are held, the first-placed contestant from each round will advance to the final, while the second-placed will move on to the provincial phase. A public draw will allocate participants to each round, and failure to appear after the draw will result in disqualification.

The final decisions of the judges will be final and announced after each elimination round. For further information, the Municipal Tourist Office in Consuegra is available to assist interested parties.
