Paco Beamud opens first exhibition at La Quintería showcasing alcazareño landscapes

La Quintería, a cultural and gastronomic venue in Alcázar de San Juan, recently inaugurated a new art exhibition by local artist Paco Beamud on 16 October. The collection comprises 37 pieces that pay tribute to the town's most emblematic corners, streets, and buildings, interpreted through vibrant colours and unique perspectives on canvas.

The opening event was attended by Pedro Noblejas, a councillor representing the Alcázar de San Juan City Council, who expressed support for this initiative that enhances the cultural and exhibition life of the city. This exhibition marks a significant milestone for Beamud, as it is his first public display after decades of painting as a personal hobby. Following his retirement, he honed his skills at the painting workshop of the Universidad Popular, resulting in an extensive body of work from which this carefully curated selection is drawn.

Jesús Gómez, co-manager of La Quintería alongside Armando Castellanos, highlighted the importance of showcasing local talent and refreshing the venue's atmosphere: “We missed having a local artist depict scenes from Alcázar. Many visitors recognise their own neighbourhoods in the paintings. Since we opened, our goal has always been to provide our space free of charge to artists, allowing them to share their work with our patrons while renewing our decor and supporting the arts.”

Councillor Pedro Noblejas conveyed the City Council's congratulations to both the artist and the venue's management for promoting local culture: “We want to firmly support initiatives like those at La Quintería. This exhibition by our fellow citizen Paco Beamud is deeply interesting, featuring beloved locations in Alcázar that are beautifully captured. We encourage all citizens to come and see it.”
