Albacete has announced its status as the first province in the world to have all its regions certified as Starlight Tourist Destinations. This initiative is part of a promotional event organised by the Provincial Council of Albacete and the Provincial Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs (APEHT) in Madrid.
On 21 October at 11:00 a.m., the province will be presented at the Castilla-La Mancha Tourist Office located on Gran Vía, Madrid. The event will feature Raquel Ruiz, the provincial deputy for tourism, and Pedro Antonio Ruiz Santos, the delegate of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha (JCCM) in Albacete. They will discuss the unique tourist opportunities Albacete offers for stargazing.
The presentation aims to attract specialised media in travel, tourism, and astronomy, showcasing Albacete as a prime destination for those seeking experiences related to nature, sustainability, and astrotourism.

This international recognition highlights the exceptional quality of its night skies and the region's commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism development. This distinction positions Albacete favourably for the growth of astronomical tourism, allowing visitors to explore the area from a unique perspective that combines stargazing with its rich landscapes, cultural heritage, towns, and gastronomy.
