La Mostra Calvià returns with 40 restaurants showcasing local cuisine

This weekend, La Mostra Calvià, the main gastronomic event in the municipality, kicks off once again, running until early November. The event, which takes place twice a year—before and after the summer season—features 40 restaurants showcasing their best culinary creations over four consecutive weekends.

The participating restaurants will offer special menus outside of the peak season, aiming to attract both visitors and local residents. Notably, this edition includes 10 new restaurants that have not participated in La Mostra before. The culinary offerings range from €16 to €30.

Event schedule

The event will run from 15 October to 8 November, with gastronomic routes organised over four weekends in the following areas:

  • 15 to 18 October: Palmanova and Magaluf
  • 22 to 25 October: Santa Ponça and Costa de la Calma
  • 29 October to 1 November: Illetes, Portals Nous, Costa d’en Blanes and Son Caliu
  • 5 to 8 November: Son Ferrer, El Toro, Peguera and Cala Fornells

New digital platform

A key innovation for this edition is the launch of a dedicated website, www.lamostracalvia.com, which provides comprehensive information about the culinary event. The user-friendly site includes a map of participating establishments and their culinary offerings, allowing visitors to view all menus in Spanish, Catalan, and English. This digital platform aims to enhance the visibility of the high-quality gastronomic offerings in Calvià and promote the local restaurants involved in the event.

Juan Antonio Amengual, the mayor of Calvià, expressed his enthusiasm about the participation of one in four restaurants being newcomers: "This figure highlights that we are witnessing a vibrant and evolving product. La Mostra serves as a fantastic showcase for local businesses to display their potential and attract new clientele. This initiative is further supported by the Calvià 365 Foundation's strategy of sharing videos of the establishments on social media, undoubtedly contributing to their visibility and expanding their reach."

It is worth noting that in the last autumn edition, the event was extended for the first time into November. This change was implemented to deepen the desseasonalisation of tourism activities in the municipality, as extending the event into the autumn months helps to prolong the tourist season, aligning with the municipal government's strategy.
