Calvià promotes itself as a prime filming location at Valladolid's shooting locations marketplace

Calvià is currently participating in the Shooting Locations Marketplace in Valladolid, highlighting the municipality as a prime location for film and television productions. Over two days, a delegation from Calvià, which includes Jaime Mora, the Director General of Tourism and Communication, and Julia López, head of the Calvià Film Office, is engaging in over 24 meetings with production executives from major companies such as HBO, Netflix, and Sony.

The municipality is presenting its diverse filming locations, along with the advantages of its facilities for shooting, hotel accommodations, and excellent connectivity to the airport. This initiative aims to position Calvià as a prominent filming location for various television platforms and production companies.

During the event, discussions have also centred on screen tourism, a sector in which Calvià has made significant strides through its 'Calvià es Cine' project. In the coming weeks, Calvià will host the inaugural vertical film festival (Vertifest Magaluf), the BIAM Gala for Balearic cinema, and various activities as part of the Evolution Mallorca Film Fest. Additionally, Calvià will present the second edition of the AIMA, a short film festival featuring works created with artificial intelligence, at the upcoming World Travel Market in London. The mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, is expected to attend this event in November.
