Renowned pianist José Luis Nieto performed this morning at the Salón de Actos of the Conservatorio Profesional de Música in Alcázar de San Juan, presenting a recital entitled ‘Pasión de Falla’. This musical event was entirely dedicated to the figure of Manuel de Falla, a pivotal composer in 20th-century Spanish music, and was attended by the city’s Councillor for Culture, Cristina Perea.

The programme offered an intense, virtuosic, and personal interpretation of some of Falla's most emblematic compositions, including piano transcriptions of ‘El sombrero de tres picos’ and ‘El amor brujo’, both arranged by Nieto himself. These works illustrate a constant dialogue between popular tradition, harmonic refinement, and modernity.

Just before taking to the stage, Nieto emphasised the uniqueness of this concert, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of Falla's birth. He remarked, “Manuel de Falla is inherently a symphonic composer, which makes it rare to attend a piano recital dedicated solely to his music, making this concert quite exclusive.”

Having recently completed a successful international tour with performances in Chile and Galicia, Nieto arrives in Alcázar de San Juan as part of a national tour comprising over fifteen dates, expressing his delight at the opportunity to visit the city.
