Approximately 6,000 participants gathered at the Parque del Alamillo in Seville for the XIV edition of the charity race ‘Tus Kilómetros Nos Dan Vida’ (Your Kilometres Give Us Life), which took place on 25 October 2026. This annual event, established in 2013, aims to raise funds for childhood cancer research.
María Tena, the Sports Delegate of the Seville City Council, attended the race and praised the extraordinary atmosphere of community and solidarity that the event fosters. She stated, “We have enjoyed an extraordinary environment of coexistence and solidarity that transcends the sporting aspect and has established itself as a reference in the social agenda of the city.”
The race saw a strong turnout, with all 6,000 available race numbers selling out within days. Tena also acknowledged the contributions of those who supported the cause with the ‘dorsal 0’ (zero number), which allows individuals to donate without participating in the race.
The day's activities began at 10:30 AM with children's races, followed by the adult race at noon, covering a distance of 5.2 kilometres without a time limit for completion. The event continued with live performances and recreational activities aimed at further fundraising.
Funds raised through the event are channelled through the SEHOP Foundation, supporting research and improving care for children and adolescents with cancer. Notable projects include clinical trials, the National Research Grant ‘Tus Kilómetros Nos Dan Vida’, the Spanish Registry of Childhood Tumours (RETI), and various studies on paediatric tumours. Additionally, initiatives for music therapy and physical activity for children undergoing treatment are also supported.
For those interested in contributing, donations remain open on the official event website.
