As part of the Solidarity Film Days in Alcázar de San Juan, a charity cycling route is set to take place on 25 October, marking its tenth anniversary. Javier Ortega, the town's Sports Councillor, alongside the event organiser, has unveiled the route details.
This non-competitive activity encourages families and friends to enjoy a leisurely Sunday cycling together, welcoming participants of all ages in a relaxed atmosphere. Registration costs €3 per participant, with proceeds supporting Solidarity Film projects.
Two routes have been designed, both starting and finishing at Plaza de España. Route A is a longer option, covering 16 kilometres and passing by the Gigüela River. Participants are advised to bring water and a snack, as there will be a break for refreshments. Registration for this route begins at 9:30 AM, with a scheduled start time of 10:30 AM.
Route B, a shorter 5-kilometre path, is tailored for families and children, taking place within the urban area of the city. Registration for this route opens at 11:00 AM, with the ride commencing at 12:00 PM.
Upon completion of both routes, participants will gather at Plaza de España for a gift raffle. As in previous years, a high turnout is anticipated, although the charity nature of the event often results in more registrations than actual participants. Approximately 300 registrations are expected, with around 170 attendees likely to join the ride.
