The mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, welcomed the management of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise this morning in a reception held at the Celta headquarters on Calle Príncipe. This event comes as the Belgian team is set to compete against Celta in the fourth match of the group stage of the Europa League 2026/2027.
The match will take place at the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos, marking another significant European encounter in the city, following the return of Juventus from Turin during the second round of the competition.
During his speech, Caballero emphasised the importance of sportsmanship in what he described as a top-level football event, highlighting the spirit of competition that characterises such international fixtures.
