The culinary event València cuina oberta is set to return to the city from 5 to 15 November, with a record participation of 81 restaurants. These establishments will present special menus and new experiences to showcase Valencian cuisine, with a focus this year on the project 'La Despensa del Mediterráneo' and local products.
Organised by the Fundación Visit València and the Ayuntamiento de València, in collaboration with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Diputación de València, this edition marks the highest number of participants in its history. Among the 81 restaurants, eleven are newcomers, and eight hold Michelin stars.
In addition to traditional rice dishes and Mediterranean recipes, diners can expect creative tapas, international fusions, and signature cuisine. Prices remain consistent with previous editions, featuring lunch menus at €28 and dinner menus at €36, excluding drinks. The eight Michelin-starred restaurants—Arrels, La Salita, Riff, Lienzo, Fierro, Fraula, Flores Raras, and Simposio—will offer special menus priced at €80 for lunch and €100 for dinner. Additionally, eleven gourmet restaurants recognised in culinary guides such as Repsol and Michelin will present offerings at €48 and €56, respectively.
Paula Llobet, the councillor for Tourism, Innovation, and Investments and president of the Fundación Visit València, remarked, "Cuina Oberta is part of our project València, Despensa del Mediterráneo, through which we promote a cuisine linked to local, seasonal, and proximity products."
José Manuel Camarero, the regional secretary for Tourism, added, "Cuina Oberta reflects the evolution of gastronomic tourism: we no longer seek just to eat well, but to experience gastronomy, understand the origins of products, and learn from those who cultivate and transform them." He noted that the 32 experiences offered this year connect gastronomy, territory, and culture, bringing visitors closer to the local way of life and dining.
This autumn edition introduces eleven restaurants participating for the first time: Amancaes, Arrocería L’Estibador, Clem Café, Colmado de la Lola, Félix Chaqués Restaurant, La Ferrera, Las Tenerías (MYR Hoteles), Linaje, No Bar, Pago de Tharsys, and Pasqual & Sheila (Av. Francia). These new additions reflect the diversity and dynamism of Valencian gastronomy.
Food enthusiasts can choose from 32 experiences organised by 23 establishments, including paella workshops, visits to the orchards to learn about the cultivation of chufa and the making of horchata, guided tastings by chefs, tours of organic vineyards and wineries, as well as coffee tastings and creative workshops. All programming, menus, and experiences are available for consultation and reservations on the official event website.
