Teruel launches final 'volveremos' campaign of 2026 with €42,700 for local commerce

The city council of Teruel, in collaboration with the Government of Aragon, will launch the final 'volveremos' campaign of 2026 on 28 October, with a budget of €42,700. This initiative aims to stimulate local small businesses and assist families in managing their essential purchases.

Mayor Emma Buj and the Councillor for Employment and Economic Development, Luis Girón, introduced the campaign at Casa Marco, a hardware and toy shop located in the historic centre of Teruel. The city council will contribute €20,437, while the Government of Aragon will provide €22,263, bringing the total funding for this campaign to €42,700.

Consumers will be able to recover 20% of their spending, with 10% funded by the city council and another 10% by the regional government, provided purchases are made on Wednesdays or Fridays at participating businesses.

Investment in local commerce

Mayor Buj emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting local commerce, a focus reflected in the municipal budget and various 'volveremos' campaigns throughout the year. The annual budget for this programme is set at €100,000. With the support from the Government of Aragon, the total investment for the three campaigns in 2026 will reach €187,433.82.

“Volveremos is an effective tool to support small businesses and help families manage their everyday purchases, as every euro invested in this programme directly benefits the local economy and the businesses that enliven our neighbourhoods,” said Buj.

The mayor encouraged residents to take advantage of this final opportunity of the year, highlighting that the collaboration between both administrations strengthens local commerce, provides incentives for shopping in nearby establishments, and helps keep money within Teruel.

Councillor Girón also stressed the importance of maintaining such initiatives to bolster the city’s commercial fabric and promote consumption at local shops. “With 'volveremos', we help families reduce their regular shopping costs while supporting small businesses that generate economic activity and employment in Teruel. This measure directly benefits consumers and local commerce, especially in neighbourhoods where every purchase helps sustain activity,” he noted.

Girón urged citizens to participate in this final campaign and to take advantage of the available incentives on Wednesdays and Fridays at participating establishments. Currently, 111 businesses in Teruel are involved in the programme, which aims to strengthen the local economy through direct support for consumption and proximity commerce.
