The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, has met for the first time with consular representatives from 19 countries present on the island. The meeting aimed to explore new avenues for institutional collaboration and to outline the strategic priorities of the Consell.

This gathering provided a platform to share the Consell's vision for the future of Mallorca's tourism model, which emphasises responsibility, sustainability, respect for residents, and the need for a diverse tourism experience that can be enjoyed year-round.

“From the Consell de Mallorca, we want to keep the doors open for dialogue and cooperation with all consular representations to listen to their concerns, better understand the needs of the communities they represent, and explore new avenues for collaboration in areas of shared interest,” said Galmés.

During the meeting, the president expressed the Consell's commitment to consolidating a model that values Mallorca's authenticity, cultural and natural heritage, and unique identity, while ensuring a harmonious relationship between visitors and residents.

The island institution considers the involvement of all stakeholders in tourism, including consular representatives, to be essential for enhancing communication with the visitors' home countries and promoting responsible behaviour that respects the territory and its residents.

This initial joint meeting also opened up discussions on new opportunities for cooperation and information exchange, with the aim of creating synergies that improve visitor experiences while preserving the quality of life for residents.

With this first audience, the Consell de Mallorca reinforces its commitment to maintaining a fluid relationship with consular representatives and fostering international partnerships to advance towards a responsible, sustainable tourism model that prioritises coexistence.
