The mayor of Comillas, María Teresa Noceda, attended the National Assembly of the Most Beautiful Towns in Spain on Saturday, held at Ca’n Ramis in Alcúdia. The assembly brought together representatives from various municipalities to share experiences, evaluate past efforts, and define common objectives.

Key agenda items included planning activities and events for 2027, budget discussions, participation in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), and the work of the Quality Commission. Additionally, the assembly focused on promoting the towns, coordinating campaigns, and enhancing cooperation among municipalities.

Comillas has been part of the association since 2024, having passed an audit assessing over 40 criteria related to heritage conservation, environmental care, and cultural activities. This membership acknowledges the town's significant historical and architectural legacy, vibrant traditions, and strong connection to its surroundings.

“Comillas has a unique identity, built over generations, and we have the responsibility to protect and convey it. Being part of this association gives us the opportunity to advocate for a model of tourism that values local life and heritage, helping towns remain vibrant year-round,” Noceda stated.

Comillas' participation in the assembly allows for the exchange of initiatives and proposals with other towns in the network. Other topics on the agenda included the selection of the host town for the National Assembly in 2028 and the inclusion of new municipalities in 2027.
