The director of the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries, Jacobo Sutil, attended the animation session of the Ciclo Mestre Mateo Galicia Calidade at the Minicines Central in A Estrada. This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Language and Youth in collaboration with the Galician Academy of Audiovisual Arts, aiming to expand exhibition spaces for the shortlisted short films from the Mestre Mateo Awards.
The screenings showcased the films Lucus, Nuno, El mismo, and El cuerpo de Cristo, creating a circuit that extends the reach of these short films beyond festivals and awards. This initiative also fosters connections between filmmakers and audiences, bringing Galician audiovisual creation to communities across the region.
This edition of the cycle involves 26 municipalities across all four provinces of Galicia. In A Coruña, the programme has already visited Arzúa, San Sadurniño, Betanzos, and Cedeira, with upcoming screenings in Boiro and Zas. In Lugo, projections took place in A Fonsagrada, Foz, Monterroso, Taboada, A Pobra do Brollón, Meira, and Vilalba, with Sarria set to join the list. In Ourense, the cycle has already reached A Veiga, Celanova, Cartelle, Allariz, and O Pereiro de Aguiar, with final stops planned in Arnoia, Cea, and Ribadavia. In Pontevedra, following the event in A Estrada, the programme will continue in Campo Lameiro and Mondariz.
