In an effort to promote integration and enhance the Spanish language skills of foreign citizens residing in the province, the Diputación de Alicante has initiated a new edition of its online Spanish courses aimed at international residents. Interested participants can register from today, 30 October, until 15 November, or until all 450 available places are filled.
The courses, which offer more than 500 hours of content, are open to anyone registered in the province of Alicante, regardless of their country of origin. To register, applicants must provide a certificate or proof of residency.
One of the key advantages of this online format is the flexibility it offers, allowing participants to access course materials from any location—via PC, mobile, or tablet—24 hours a day, seven days a week. Additionally, the programme can be tailored to fit individual schedules, starting levels, and learning progress.
Juan de Dios Navarro, the Diputación's deputy for International Residents, stated, “This initiative has become a valuable resource for international citizens living in our region, as learning our language facilitates coexistence and improves communication with neighbours, their surroundings, and also with their local government.”
Navarro also highlighted the programme's popularity, noting that over 9,000 residents have participated in this learning initiative in recent years, which has been organised by the International Residents Unit of the Diputación de Alicante across a total of 211 courses.
