From this weekend, three municipal historical sites in Vigo will not only introduce new activities for schoolchildren, families, and the general public but will also allow reservations through a new unified booking system on their website. "We want to facilitate the understanding of Vigo's historical heritage," explained the mayor.
The mayor presented the expanded programme at the Interpretation Centre of the Roman World in Toralla, the Castro Archaeological Site, and the Castro Fortress, which includes an increase of 25 weekly hours in the opening times of the three venues.
New offerings
Starting this weekend, the Interpretation Centre of the Roman World in Toralla will offer workshops for children every Saturday morning from 11 am to 2 pm, and the same hours on Sundays for families. Additionally, the weekly opening hours will be extended by 13 hours in winter, changing from 6 am to 7 pm, and by 14 hours in summer, increasing from 8 am to 10 pm.
The Castro Archaeological Site will enhance its services for schools by facilitating guided visits. The opening hours will also be extended, changing from 8 am to 4 pm from 1 October to 30 June.
The Castro Fortress will introduce a new guided tour titled “360 years of the Fortress's history.” Furthermore, on Tuesday afternoons, a combined tour of the archaeological site and the fortress will be offered, lasting two hours. Visits for schools and the general public will also be reinforced.
