Centro Danza Matadero, part of Madrid's cultural, tourism and sports department, is set to launch the second edition of ‘Nuevos Creadores’, a programme designed to promote young dance talents. This year’s initiative will showcase five performances that encompass flamenco, Spanish and contemporary dance, including four world premieres.
The programme was presented today by Marta Rivera de la Cruz, the delegate for culture, tourism and sports. It will take place from 30 October to 5 December 2026. Young people aged 16 to 30 can attend the performances for free through JOBO, the cultural youth voucher offered by the Madrid City Council.
The scheduled performances include:
- Led Silhouette (30 and 31 October) by ULTIMATUM, a reflection on emotional, climatic, and political collapse.
- Bien vale un imperio (6 and 7 November) by Paula Comitre, which revives the legacy of Pastora Imperio.
- Donde no hay nada (Arquitectura de la ausencia) (20 and 21 November) by Jesús Benzal, exploring the perception of emptiness.
- Apex Timing (27 and 28 November) by Fonsi López, addressing the culture of productivity.
- El salto de Butes (4 and 5 December) by Juan Berlanga, transforming Greek mythology into contemporary dance.
In addition to the performances, the programme will also include training workshops to complement the events.
