international watercolour biennial launches touring exhibition in albacete

The exhibition opens on 3 November at the Provincial Historical Archive of Albacete and will be accessible to the public until 30 November. This event marks the start of a new phase in promoting the artistic heritage of the Biennial across different cities in Spain.

Following the conclusion of its eighth edition, the International Biennial of New Techniques, Concepts, and Developments in Watercolour from Caudete is embarking on a project aimed at expanding the dissemination of its artistic collections and reinforcing its commitment to the artists who have contributed to this cultural gathering over the years.

The Provincial Historical Archive of Albacete will host the inauguration of a collective exhibition featuring works from the Biennial's artistic collections. This exhibition will initiate a new touring route, aiming to bring contemporary watercolour art to new audiences and enhance visibility for the participating artists.

Fostering connections with artists

One of the primary objectives of this initiative is to maintain the connection between the Biennial and the artists who have participated in its various editions. This will be achieved through the selection of their works and their involvement in activities organised by the event.

Manuela González, the Councillor for Culture, and Antonio Requena, the Biennial's artistic director, have expressed their positive assessment of this action, highlighting that it represents a crucial step in strengthening the trajectory of the International Watercolour Biennial of Caudete and enhancing the visibility and impact of its creators on a national level.

The Biennial reaffirms its commitment to supporting creators and actively contributing to the dissemination of their work. The artworks in the collection thus become ambassadors for the quality, diversity, and expressive richness of watercolour, while also preserving the legacy of the different editions.

A collection with a vision to tour Spain

The exhibition in Albacete serves as the starting point for a strategy aimed at promoting the touring of the Biennial's artistic collections. The intention is for this collection to be progressively presented in other Spanish cities, establishing new opportunities for cultural collaboration and bringing watercolour art to different regions.

This strategy reinforces the cultural dimension of the International Biennial of New Techniques, Concepts, and Developments in Watercolour from Caudete and its role as a platform for artistic promotion and dissemination. At the same time, it contributes to consolidating a collection that brings together works linked to the history of the event and the talent of the artists who have been part of it.

With this new initiative, the Biennial looks to the future with the aim of continuing to grow, expanding its collaborative spaces, and providing new opportunities for its artists' works to travel, connect with new audiences, and leave an impact beyond Caudete.
