The Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board held a meeting at the El Mirador Hotel in Puerto del Rosario to discuss the planning of tourism promotion for 2027. The meeting included representatives from major hotel chains and accommodation entities on the island, accounting for approximately 71% of the local accommodation offer.

Attendees included Marlene Figueroa, the Vice President of the Tourism Board and Councillor for Tourism of the Cabildo, along with representatives from Hyatt Hotels, Livvo Hotels, Elba Hotels, Coral Hotels, R2 Hotels, H10 Hotels, Erbania Heritage, Higos Beach Hotel, and the Fuerteventura Rural Tourism Association.

During the session, participants evaluated the direct promotional actions carried out in 2026, which involved presentations to travel agents in cities such as Warsaw, Katowice, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Leeds, Madrid, Barcelona, Gijón, Bilbao, Zurich, Hanover, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt.

The meeting highlighted the importance of direct presentations to travel agents as a key promotional strategy that the Tourism Board and the accommodation sector aim to strengthen in 2027. Marlene Figueroa emphasised that “coordination between the Tourism Board and the accommodation sector is the foundation of effective tourism promotion. When we work together in the source markets, the destination gains credibility and the ability to attract visitors.”

Figueroa also noted that “the experience from 2026 allows us to continue focusing on direct presentations to travel agents in the origin markets. This is a line of work we want to reinforce in our 2027 strategy.” The meeting established a framework for continued collaboration with the accommodation sector in promoting Fuerteventura in source markets throughout 2027.
