The Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board convened at the El Mirador Hotel in Puerto del Rosario for a working meeting with representatives from major tour operators to discuss the expected demand for the winter 2026/27 season. The meeting was attended by Marlene Figueroa, the board's vice president and tourism councillor, along with representatives from Viajes El Corte Inglés, TUI, Jet2, Easyjet Holidays, and DerTouristik.
This technical meeting aimed to align the operators' demand forecasts with Fuerteventura's regular air connectivity. The goal was to identify the destination's strengths and areas for improvement in the coming months, taking into account customer feedback from these operators across various source markets.
The meeting is part of the board's ongoing efforts to understand demand trends in source markets and to detect potential adjustments in the promotion of the destination. Marlene Figueroa emphasised the importance of gaining insights from tour operators and their clients regarding Fuerteventura's offerings, stating, “Understanding how operators and their clients evaluate our destination is crucial for making informed decisions. These meetings allow us to compare our vision of the destination with the market's actual perception.”
Figueroa also highlighted that the winter season is strategic for Fuerteventura, and collaborating with operators distributing the island in Europe enables them to anticipate which aspects to strengthen and where there is room for improvement. The meeting facilitated the exchange of information regarding the winter season's prospects and the factors that may influence the evolution of demand for Fuerteventura in European markets.
