Tourism businesses in Galicia have the opportunity to apply for grants aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and promoting renewable energy within their establishments. The Axencia de Turismo de Galicia has announced that applications will be accepted until 7 December 2026, at 20:00 hours.
This funding initiative, part of procedure TU986B, is specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises that operate accommodation and catering services registered in the Registro de Empresas y Actividades Turísticas de Galicia (REAT). Applicants must meet the criteria outlined in the official guidelines.
The grants can be used to finance various improvements, including:
- Enhancements to thermal insulation
- Upgrades to lighting systems
- Integration of renewable energy sources such as aerothermal, geothermal, biomass, and solar photovoltaic systems for self-consumption
To qualify for these grants, projects must be comprehensive, incorporating at least two energy efficiency measures and one renewable energy initiative. Additionally, businesses are required to conduct a prior energy audit and demonstrate a minimum reduction of 30% in non-renewable primary energy consumption.
Eligible expenses include construction work, installations, necessary equipment, and materials, as well as certain technical costs related to the energy audit, certification, project drafting, and project management.
Interested businesses can find detailed information about the application process and submit their requests through the electronic headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia, using the procedure code TU986B.
