La Roda celebrates culture, humour and solidarity from 7 to 15 November

The cultural programme in La Roda is set to offer a variety of activities from 7 to 15 November, featuring events aimed at audiences of all ages and highlighting local solidarity initiatives.

Presented by Luis Fernández, the councillor for culture at the La Roda Town Hall, the agenda includes the twelfth edition of 'Lluvia de Estrellas', which combines music, humour, and talent from local artists for a charitable cause. Organised by the AMAR Mental Health Association, this event will take place at the Casa de la Cultura with two performances scheduled for 17:30 and 20:00. Proceeds will support the association's work in mental health.

On the same day, the fourth blessing of classic vehicles will be held, organised by the parish vicar, José Valduña. This event will attract enthusiasts from across the province, starting with a blessing ceremony at the Ermita de San Cristóbal, followed by a parade through the streets of La Roda. For the first time, there will be an exhibition on Avenida de la Estación and manoeuvring exercises at Paseo Ferial.

The programme continues on Friday, 13 November, at 20:30 with 'El humor todo lo-cura', a comedy show featuring Jesús Arenas, Luis Larrodera, and Nadia Guillamón, sponsored by the Provincial Council of Albacete, with proceeds benefiting the Mentes Abiertas AMAR Association in La Roda. Tickets can be purchased through Globalentradas.

On Saturday, 14 November, the concert series in honour of Santa Cecilia will commence with a performance by the Banda Virgen de los Remedios at 19:30. This marks the beginning of a series of musical events celebrating the patron saint of musicians.

Additionally, the Caja Blanca will host a new edition of the Café-Teatro, organised by the Parkinson Association of La Roda. This initiative, which has been running for two decades, will feature local artists in two sessions on 14 and 15 November, both at 18:30. This cultural and charitable event aims to raise awareness of the association's work and support its activities and services.

Fernández praised the involvement of local associations, artists, and cultural groups, noting the positive reception these initiatives receive from residents. He emphasised that this programme demonstrates the ability of culture to foster participation, community, and solidarity while contributing to the local economy.
