Community of Madrid supports new Salvador Dalí exhibition at Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum

The Community of Madrid is collaborating with the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum on a new exhibition dedicated to the renowned Catalan painter Salvador Dalí. Titled 'The Freudian Universe of Dalí', the exhibition will be open to the public from 20 October 2026 until 24 January 2027.

This exhibition explores the influence of Sigmund Freud's writings on Dalí's artistic work. Mariano de Paco Serrano, the regional Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport, attended the presentation of the exhibition and emphasised the significance of culture as a vital aspect of the region, which serves as a primary motivation for visitors.

In 2025, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum welcomed 1,003,455 visitors, with 51% being domestic and 49% international tourists. Among the domestic visitors, 78% were from the Madrid region, while the remaining 22% came from other parts of Spain. Internationally, the largest groups of visitors were from the United States (6.8%), Italy (5.7%), France (4.8%), and the United Kingdom (2.3%).

Through this collaboration, the Community of Madrid acknowledges the tourism and promotional significance of the activities carried out by this prestigious institution.
