Gema Igual highlights AXPE Consulting's role in creating skilled jobs

The mayor of Santander, Gema Igual, recently visited the facilities of AXPE Consulting Cantabria, accompanied by the councillor for Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Business Development, Chabela Gómez-Barreda. They were welcomed by the heads of AXPE Consulting's Cantabria Unit, who shared insights into the technological activities being developed in Santander and the company's future challenges.

During the visit, Igual toured the offices and had the opportunity to learn about the work of AXPE professionals, as well as some of the technological projects being developed in Cantabria for public administrations and national companies. She expressed her gratitude to AXPE's leaders for the invitation and the chance to witness their projects and the efforts of their professionals firsthand.

AXPE currently employs over 250 professionals in Santander, which, according to Igual, highlights the company's commitment to generating skilled employment, innovation, and the development of technological talent in the region. She also acknowledged the workers' expertise, which contributes to the functioning of technological systems and services used daily by citizens, businesses, and administrations.

“For Santander, having companies like AXPE is excellent news. Their ability to develop projects of national and international scope, work with significant public and private clients, and grow in such a demanding sector helps diversify our economy and strengthen an activity with enormous future potential,” she stated.

The mayor noted that one of AXPE's main areas of expertise is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to software engineering and the digital transformation of organisations. The company is incorporating generative AI and intelligent agents into the processes of development, maintenance, and modernisation of applications, aiming to improve productivity, accelerate technological evolution, and address the transformation of complex IT platforms.

Additionally, through the technological capabilities of the AXPE Group, the company develops data engineering solutions, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence, including proprietary intelligent models and assistants tailored to the needs of public and private organisations.

The heads of AXPE Consulting's Cantabria Unit conveyed to the municipal representatives the company's intention to continue consolidating its activities in Santander, promoting skilled employment and supporting the professional development of local talent. In this context, AXPE sees collaboration with the University of Cantabria and vocational training centres as essential, facilitating opportunities for labour market entry, specialised training, and career development in the technological field.

The goal is to enable trained professionals in Cantabria to develop their careers in the region while participating in national technological projects without needing to relocate. AXPE has maintained a connection with Cantabria since 2014, when it began its network of development centres. The heads of AXPE Consulting's Cantabria Unit reaffirmed the company's commitment to continue developing its activities from the city, enhancing collaboration with the educational, institutional, and business environment, and contributing to positioning Santander as an attractive hub for innovation and new technologies.
