BenQuerer dance performance by Fran Sieira and Caamaño&Ameixeiras to take place in Milladoiro

On 6 November, the Casa da Cultura in Milladoiro will welcome 'BenQuerer', a dance performance by the Galician company Fran Sieira, accompanied by live music from the duo Caamaño&Ameixeiras. The performance is set to begin at 20:30, with tickets currently available for purchase.

This event is supported by the Cultural Network of the Deputación da Coruña. Fran Sieira's dance company, established in 2017, focuses on a contemporary reinterpretation of Galician folklore, exploring movement through traditional dance as a means of expression. Their work creates a cutting-edge language of movement that honours Galician roots and reflects cultural heritage.

Fran Sieira's performances often revolve around artistic projects with a social mission, aiming to raise awareness of various issues. 'BenQuerer' is an intimate and emotional piece that connects with everyday life and our processes of adaptation to change. It reflects on the tendency to take on more than we can handle, advocating for self-care and the importance of setting boundaries.

Through a gender perspective, this new proposal from Fran Sieira results from a personal and intimate creative process, inviting audiences to reflect on the significance of emotional self-care, self-love, and self-respect.

Caamaño&Ameixeiras, formed by Sabela Caamaño and Antía Ameixeiras in 2018, are rooted in traditional music and dance. Using tradition as a starting point, they create a unique language through vibrant and personal compositions and arrangements that organically interact with folk music while incorporating contemporary elements.

In recent years, the duo has collaborated with notable artists from the Galician and Spanish music scenes, including 'Catro cousas' with Asturian artist Rodrigo Cuevas (2024), 'Arderse' with Fillas de Cassandra (2025), and 'Ghatiña mansa' with Tanxugueiras (2025). In June 2025, they received the award for Best Song in Galician at the 2nd Edition of the Spanish Music Academy Awards, further solidifying their international presence.
