In anticipation of the All Saints' Day festivities, the eight municipal cemeteries in Vigo will extend their opening hours, while theatrical guided tours at the Pereiró cemetery will also return. The mayor announced that from 30 October to 2 November, the cemeteries will be open continuously from 9:00 to 18:30.
This extension applies to the cemeteries of Beade, Bembrive, Cabral, Candeán, Lavadores, Teis, Pereiró, and Zamáns. Concurrently, the municipal government is resuming its programme of guided tours at the Pereiró cemetery, which will take place from 27 October to 21 November.
According to the mayor, this initiative is free for the public, fully funded by the Concello with an investment of €25,423.14. The primary aim of these events is to connect the residents of Vigo with the city's historical memory.
The tours will be led by guides portraying four significant figures: Concepción Arenal, the Marchioness of Valadares, Irene Ceballos, and Bernardo González del Valle. A total of 1,500 places will be available, with each tour accommodating a maximum of 25 visitors. Three tours will be offered each day, lasting an hour and a half, with departures at 18:30, 19:00, and 19:30.
Registrations will be conducted progressively based on the selected dates, either in person at the Tourism office (number 19) at the Concello's fish market or by phone at 010.
