Valentín García, the Secretary General of Language, has underscored the "essential role in the transmission of Galician in the realm of family leisure" played by the FalaRedes programme. This initiative has been reinforced as part of the General Plan for the Normalisation of the Galician Language, which the Xunta de Galicia is now implementing following its approval by a broad majority in Parliament.
García noted that this is one of the measures that "focus on children and families" and represents "an important tool for revitalising the language, especially among young people, particularly in peri-urban contexts."
He praised the multi-arts performance O son do ar, presented earlier today, describing it as a "resource that enhances the language through dance, singing, storytelling, and live poetry," while also "paying tribute to Galician emigration in the last century." The performance features narration by Luis Iglesia, vocals by Paty Lesta, dance by Ricardo Fernández, piano by Cristian Leggiero, and cajón by Moisés Fernández, under the artistic direction of Iván Villar. It will be showcased on 8 November in Viveiro (Lugo), 4 December in O Barco de Valdeorras (Ourense), and 22 December in Lugo.
Additionally, García announced a new tour of Os Bolechas, which will visit a total of 21 municipalities under the title Aquí hai moito ruído, also supported by the FalaRedes programme. The performances by the beloved television characters will begin this Friday in Valga (Pontevedra), followed by shows on Saturday in Ordes (A Coruña) and Sunday in Abegondo (A Coruña). On 12 November, they will perform in A Teixeira (Ourense), on 13 November in Padrón (A Coruña), and on 14 November in the A Coruña municipalities of Coristanco and Arzúa. The tour will continue with stops in Outes, Bergondo, and Ares (A Coruña) on 15, 22, and 26 November, respectively, before visiting Baiona (Pontevedra) on 27 November. In December, performances are scheduled for 4 and 5 December in Negreira and Fisterra (both in A Coruña), respectively, followed by shows in Palas de Rei (Lugo) on 6 December, Rois on 11 December, and Carral on 12 December, also in A Coruña. On the same day, they will appear in Cerdedo Cotobade (Pontevedra), with final stops on 13 December in Allariz (Ourense) and in Vedra (A Coruña), Cedeira (A Coruña), and Begonte (Lugo), with dates yet to be confirmed.
