The Book of Mormon musical begins Spanish tour in Fuenlabrada

The acclaimed musical The Book of Mormon, known for being the most awarded production in Spain's history, has kicked off its Spanish tour in Fuenlabrada, with tickets selling out in a mere 10 minutes.

The performance, taking place at the Teatro Tomás y Valiente at 20:00, marks the beginning of a series of shows across various cities following a successful run in the capital. The cast has been preparing for two weeks at the Fuenlabrada theatre.

With over 1,000 performances and more than 600,000 spectators in Spain alone, The Book of Mormon is the only contemporary comedy currently being staged simultaneously in Broadway, London, and now Fuenlabrada. The musical is the brainchild of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, alongside Robert Lopez, known for his work on hits such as Coco and Frozen, and directed by David Serrano.

Produced by ATG Entertainment, which has brought other successful productions like Mamma Mia!, Billy Elliot, Matilda, West Side Story, Les Misérables, and Wicked to the stage, the musical features a live orchestra and a cast of 25 highly skilled performers.

The storyline follows the adventures of two young Mormon missionaries in a remote village in Uganda, where they discover that the locals face more pressing issues than their own beliefs, leading to a narrative rich in humour, social critique, and unforgettable songs.
