September tax revenue reaches 2.127 billion euros in Álava

Tax revenue in Álava for September has reached 2.127 billion euros, reflecting a growth of 1.83% from the previous year. This increase comes despite difficulties related to the implementation of the SAP system, which aims to modernise and improve tax management.

The comparability of this year's figures with those from the previous year is complicated by measures taken by the Álava Provincial Council to support the liquidity of families and businesses. One such measure involved postponing the payment of certain taxes by two months, followed by a payment plan spread over four months, delaying the accounting of these taxes until payment is made.

Direct taxes, which have seen a positive trend, contributed significantly to the overall revenue, amounting to 1.143 billion euros, an increase of 7.29%. In contrast, indirect taxes have decreased due to the measures implemented to mitigate the impacts of the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis, generating 791.3 million euros, a decline of 4.4% from last year.

Breakdown of tax revenue

The total tax revenue includes:

  • Direct taxes: 1.143 billion euros (up 2.47%)
  • Income tax (IRPF): 868.6 million euros (up 9%)
  • Corporate tax: 210.6 million euros (up 2%)

Indirect taxes: 791.3 million euros (down 4.4%)

  • Value-added tax (IVA): 531.8 million euros (down 3.5%)
  • Hydrocarbon tax: 144.4 million euros (down 13.5%)

Overall, the additional 38.2 million euros in revenue compared to last year has allowed for this total accumulation, marking a notable increase in tax collection in Álava.
