The mayor of Vigo has announced the launch of the new vigosónico course, which will offer a range of free programmes from October 2026 to June 2027. This edition will focus on four key areas: training, community, conversation, and creation, all aimed at the city's youth.
In the training segment, 17 workshops will be held as part of the Vigosónico Campus, featuring the expertise of sixteen active professionals. These sessions will provide practical insights into the various trades involved in producing a song, an album, or a live performance.
For community engagement, two types of activities will be available. The first, Vigosónico Juega, will take place over six Sunday afternoons—on 5 October, 29 November, 31 January, 28 February, 25 April, and 30 May—offering board games, role-playing games, and collaborative dynamics suitable for all ages. Additionally, four K-pop sessions will be organised, culminating in a final party that will serve as a showcase.
The centre is also launching a new podcast titled Distrito Creativo, designed to provide insights into the cultural and creative industries. Furthermore, vigosónico has introduced a new website, www.vigosonico.com, which will serve as a platform for bands rehearsing at the centre and for registering participation in activities.
The mayor emphasised that “Vigosónico continues to be a creative space for local bands and artists,” adding that they have access to rehearsal rooms and recording spaces with optimal acoustic conditions. He also reminded the public that all activities are fully funded by the Concello.
