The mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, attended ‘INNOVA 2026–The Fashion Retail Experience’ at the Alcázar of Jerez this Saturday. The event, organised by the local council and ABM Eventos, aims to support new talents and emerging designers in the fashion industry through runway shows, design discussions, masterclasses, and experiences focused on fashion, creativity, and retail.
As the mayor highlighted, “this event confirms the municipal commitment to promoting the textile industry, the talent of designers, and the overall development of Jerez. We are valuing fashion while enhancing the cultural, tourist, and media promotion of the city, boosting a sector that symbolises creativity, progress, and cultural expression, while also generating a positive impact on the local economy.”
ABM Eventos director Ana Belén Morillo noted that INNOVA aims to go beyond traditional fashion shows, seeking to create business opportunities and dialogue for newcomers in the sector. “We will be able to see the present of fashion, the talent of Andalucía, but above all, the talent of Jerez,” she stated.
In line with this commitment, work meetings have already been established with the director of the Jerez Flamenco Catwalk, Ana Belén Morillo, to discuss potential municipal collaboration for the 20th edition of this event, scheduled for 4-7 February 2027, which is expected to have a significant impact on the city.
INNOVA kicked off with a roundtable featuring participants Elisa Cortés, Mariquilla Trasquilá, Ainhoa Rosado, Nicolás Villar, Margarita Muñoz, and Antonio Carpio. The programme continued with a collective fashion show by Mariquita Trasquilá and Margarita Muñoz. This first day also included workshops on identity and style, led by Cristina Sánchez Pardo, and showcased creations from designers David Rodríguez, David Panal, Lomont, Pilar Villar, Belulah, Ismael Domínguez, and Iván Campaña.
The Sunday schedule begins at 11:00 with a workshop by professional fashion photographer Jesús Amarillo titled ‘Anatomy of a Fashion Editorial’. At 12:00, the ‘I South Talent’ New Designers Competition will take place, culminating with a men's fashion collective show by Patria and Carpio Menswear at 13:00.
