The Ministry of Labour and Social Economy has published a model document detailing the essential elements of employment contracts on the SEPE (Public State Employment Service) website. This initiative is part of the additional provision of Royal Decree 723/2026, enacted on 9 September, which transposes EU Directive 2019/1152 concerning transparent and predictable working conditions.
The new information obligations came into effect on 5 October and are applicable to employment relationships lasting more than four weeks. The document includes crucial details such as:
- The identities of the parties involved and the workplace
- The type of contract, including reasons and duration for temporary contracts
- The job role, salary, and working hours (including shifts, overtime, and holidays)
- The probation period and mandatory training
- The use of algorithms or automated systems in decision-making
- The equality plan, harassment protocol, and LGTBI measures
- The termination procedure and notice periods
- The applicable collective agreement
This new model aims to enhance transparency and predictability in the workplace, ensuring that employees are well-informed about their rights and obligations.
