Eivissa celebrates Tots Sants and Halloween with diverse activities programme

The Eivissa City Council is coordinating various departments, including Culture, Youth, Citizen Participation, Commerce, and Cemeteries, to deliver a comprehensive programme of events for the Tots Sants and Halloween celebrations. This year's festivities will take place across different neighbourhoods and cater to all ages.

Activities for all ages

The programme features the third edition of the Ibiza Halloween Festival, a major youth event at Sa Peixateria, along with family-friendly activities, theatrical visits to the Old Cemetery, and special services for Tots Sants. The initiative combines respect for traditions with contemporary entertainment, aiming to foster community engagement and creativity.

Ibiza Halloween Festival highlights

One of the main attractions is the Ibiza Halloween Festival, inspired by the renowned Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival. The festival seeks to promote horror and fantasy cinema, providing a platform for audiovisual productions. The festival will kick off on 29 October with a short film screening at Can Ventosa, followed by additional screenings on 30 October and the closing ceremony with awards on 1 November.

Youth-focused events

The Youth Department has planned specific activities targeting young people, including creative and culinary workshops. Highlights include a horror-themed maze called 'Museum Horror' at the C19 Youth Creation Centre, which will be open on 30 and 31 October. A Halloween party for ages 14 to 17 will also take place at Sa Peixateria on 30 October, featuring music, themed decorations, and food trucks.

Community involvement in Halloween celebrations

The Citizen Participation Department, in collaboration with local associations and educational communities, is organising various Halloween events in neighbourhoods. Activities include a Halloween party at CEIP Cas Serres on 28 October and a family-friendly celebration at CEIP Can Misses on 31 October.

Local commerce joins the festivities

The Commerce Department will play a significant role in the celebrations, promoting local businesses through activities and the traditional 'trick or treat'. This year, the City Council has distributed 500 kg of gluten-free sweets to participating shops, inviting families to take part in the festivities. Various workshops, sports activities, and musical performances will also be held in commercial areas.

Honouring Tots Sants traditions

In addition to Halloween festivities, the City Council has prepared a special programme to honour the traditional significance of Tots Sants. This includes a theatrical visit to the Old Cemetery on 1 November, showcasing its historical and cultural heritage. Musical performances will accompany the remembrance activities on 31 October and 1 November.

Special services for cemetery visits

To facilitate visits during Tots Sants and the commemoration of the Faithful Departed, the City Council will extend the opening hours of the municipal cemeteries and provide free transport services. The Old and New Cemeteries will be open from 9:00 to 18:00 on 30 October to 2 November, with special bus services available for visitors.
