The painting exhibition by artist Mena opens today at the Joan Miró Sociocultural Centre. Titled "Constructively informal," the exhibition will run from 14 October to 16 November. The inauguration will take place on Friday, 16 October, at 18:30.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Argentine film "Las corrientes (2025)" will be screened as part of the Filmoteca cycle at the Norte-Universidad Sociocultural Centre, starting at 18:30. Admission is free, but tickets must be collected in advance from the centre.

Activities at the Central Library

On Thursday, 15 October, the Almudena Grandes Central Library will host a travelling exhibition from the Book and Reading Area, part of the General Subdirectorate of Books of the Community of Madrid (CAM), showcasing "Leer entre líneas," the work of graphic humourist Loreta Lion. Additionally, at 18:00, the library will offer a workshop titled "Pan de Luna: A poetic and sensory experience" aimed at adults.

On Friday, 16 October, at 18:30, there will be another literary event with the presentation of the book "A veces… siempre" by author Patricia Moreno at the Almudena Grandes Central Library. Entry is free until full capacity is reached.

Theatre and family film

On the evening of 16 October, cultural activities will continue at 20:00 at the Teatro del Bosque with a performance of "La dama boba," a classic drama by Pacific Producciones, inspired by 16th-century Madrid.

This weekend, families can enjoy film screenings, starting with "Lilo y Stitch" on Saturday, 17 October, at 18:00 at the El Soto Sociocultural Centre, and on Sunday, 18 October, at 12:00 at the Norte-Universidad Sociocultural Centre and at 18:00 at the Joan Miró Sociocultural Centre.

On Saturday, 17 October, at 20:00, the Teatro del Bosque will feature the comedy "La verdad," starring Joaquín Reyes and produced by Barco Pirata Producciones, known for its innovative productions in collaboration with prestigious theatre centres.

On Sunday, 18 October, music will take centre stage with a concert by Ecos del Ayer at the City Museum at 12:00. The agenda also includes a family theatre performance, "El cuaderno de Gloria," by the Cruceta Flamenco Company, at 12:30, offering an inspiring and entertaining journey through art to help children understand the world in verse.
