The Culture Councillor of Talavera de la Reina, Enrique Etayo, has unveiled plans for a concert featuring renowned artist Cristina Ramos alongside the Municipal Band of Talavera. The event will take place at Teatro Palenque on 30 October at 21:30.
During a press conference held on Tuesday, Etayo was joined by Ramos, her manager and promoter Íñigo Irigoyen, the director of the Municipal Band Ignacio Teruel, and journalist Antonio Monje. The councillor expressed his confidence that the concert would be a memorable experience, highlighting the unique collaboration between Ramos and the local band.
Titled “From Opera to Rock,” the concert aims to blend classical music with pop, rock, funky, and disco elements, creating an engaging and emotional journey for the audience. Ramos, who has a classical music background, conveyed her excitement about merging different genres and breaking down barriers between styles through this symphonic production, which has already toured various locations worldwide.
Ignacio Teruel expressed gratitude to the OAL of Culture for supporting this initiative, noting the opportunity to collaborate with Ramos and enhance the cultural offerings in Talavera. The collaboration aims to attract new audiences to the theatre and strengthen the visibility of the band. Ramos described Talavera as a “haven of peace” and expressed her delight at performing in the city.
