Colindres is preparing to celebrate the third edition of 'Colindres al Teatro', offering four free theatrical performances throughout November. The event will take place at the Casa de Cultura's auditorium from 6 to 27 November, featuring a variety of productions aimed at diverse audiences, culminating in a performance focused on raising awareness about violence against women.
The initiative, organised by the Colindres Town Council through its Culture Department, follows the success of the previous two editions held in 2024 and 2025, which attracted significant audiences. The performances are scheduled for Fridays at 19:00 on 6, 13, 20, and 27 November.
The programme will kick off on 6 November with 'Aurora y el Cuento Secreto', presented by Amalgama Teatral, aimed at children. On 13 November, 'Entre tú y el barro' by Ulapé Teatro will be staged, followed by 'Desde Rusia con humor' from Rebanal Teatro on 20 November. The series will conclude on 27 November with 'Ecos en el fango' by La Machina Teatro, which is linked to the awareness campaign surrounding the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November.
This cultural programme is made possible through collaboration between the Colindres Town Council, the Government of Cantabria, and the Government of Spain. The first three performances are part of the 'Territorio' programme, while the final play is associated with the State Pact against Gender Violence.
Marcos Agudo, the Councillor for Culture, emphasised the importance of continuing this initiative, which has gained popularity among local residents. He stated, "This cycle aims to consolidate the path started in 2024 and 2025. Our desire is to attract as many people as possible and ensure that, through an attractive and diverse theatrical programme, the public enjoys an activity that becomes a regular and anticipated event each autumn. Since we launched this initiative, we have seen how people begin to inquire about the next edition as soon as summer ends. This shows that it works, that people enjoy it, and that we must continue to promote it."
Colindres Mayor Javier Incera highlighted the significance of fostering cultural activities and utilising municipal spaces for this purpose. He remarked, "With this cycle, we aim to encourage regular use of the Casa de Cultura auditorium by the residents of Colindres. Such initiatives contribute to offering a solid and appealing cultural programme that can spark public interest in the performing arts and the range of activities we promote from the Town Council." Incera added, "Colindres wants to continue being the cultural engine of the region, a reference point that we must maintain and strengthen with proposals that bring culture to all audiences. In recent years, we have made a significant commitment to cultural programmes, prioritising theatre, music, and literature."
All performances will be free of charge, with access granted on a first-come, first-served basis until the auditorium's capacity is reached.
