On Saturday, 31 October, from 9 am to 9 pm, Pompeu Fabra square will host the latest edition of Badalona's sport fair, an initiative aimed at showcasing the activities of more than 30 sports organisations in the city and promoting sports participation among residents.
The fair, which was postponed due to rain forecasts on 17 October, will feature a wide range of activities throughout the day, allowing attendees to explore various sports disciplines through demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops, and public activities. Participating clubs and associations will also have information booths to present their projects and connect with individuals interested in starting or continuing their sports journey.
The programme includes sports activities for all ages, participatory proposals to discover new sports, a climbing wall, conferences, and talks related to the sports world, as well as activities on a specially designated sports court for the event.
The sport fair in Badalona is designed to promote healthy habits, citizen participation, and to highlight the work of the city's sports organisations. In light of the mourning period declared following the tragic train accident in Toledo, the scheduled musical performance has been cancelled.
Rosa del Amo, the third deputy mayor of Badalona, has encouraged residents to attend the sport fair, emphasising that “it is an opportunity to discover the wide variety of sports disciplines available in the city.” Del Amo also noted that “this fair is a recognition of the work done by Badalona's sports organisations, which enable people of all ages to engage in sports and maintain regular physical activity, essential for health and well-being.”
