Antzerki Aroa presents 'rikardo III eta ni' at the navarre school of theatre

The navarre school of theatre (Escuela Navarra de Teatro, ENT) will feature 'rikardo III eta ni' on Wednesday, 28 October, at 19:00. This performance is part of the Antzerki Aroa theatre cycle, showcasing works in the Basque language, and is presented by the companies Horman Poster and Dxusturi Teatroa.

Tickets for the event are available for eight euros, with a discount of three euros for students of euskera. They can be purchased at the box office starting one hour before the show.

Directed by Igor de Quadra and featuring actors Leire Ucha, Ion Zumelaga, Eneritz Artetxe, and dancer Pette Jaragoyhen, 'rikardo III eta ni' takes inspiration from William Shakespeare's classic play to create a satirical and irreverent universe. The narrative revolves around three devoted fans of the renowned English author who devise their own theatrical hallucination of this historical tragedy.

Utilising selected fragments from Shakespeare's work, the lead actors explore the underlying themes and symbols with humour and irony, engaging in discussions about their favourite author. The performance ultimately culminates in a personal and unique rendition of the play.

In addition, the production addresses key questions such as the true nature of kingship and moral consciousness, delving into more profound issues like the consequences of the thirst for power and the mechanisms of political authority. The creators employ humour, critique, playfulness, and dance to convey their message.

Horman Poster was established in 2010 as a collaborative scenic project aimed at fostering encounters and transformation. Since then, the collective has developed artistic and educational projects with an interdisciplinary approach to art. Dxusturi Teatroa, which co-produces the play, was founded in 2012 with the goal of creating and staging theatre works in euskera for adult audiences.
