Vinaròs has emerged as a key centre for smart tourism in the Valencian Community. On 19 and 20 October, the Vinalab hosted a training session titled "Basic Fundamentals of the DTI-CV Model," organised by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana through the Valencian Institute of Tourist Technologies (INVAT·TUR).
The course brought together municipal tourism officials, DTI-CV network technicians, and professionals from various tourism administrations to delve into the Smart Tourist Destinations model of the Valencian Community. The event featured a visit from Jordi Bataller Mompó, director of Tourist Intelligence and Innovation at Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and head of INVAT·TUR.
During the two-day training, participants discussed topics such as tourism governance, inter-administrative cooperation, and tools for planning and monitoring DTI strategies. Key aspects including sustainability, accessibility, technology, and online marketing were also explored, highlighting the importance of data and indicators in enhancing decision-making.
Mercedes García, the councillor for Tourism, expressed her appreciation for INVAT·TUR's choice of Vinaròs and Vinalab for this training, stating that it "demonstrates our status as a reference point for innovation and knowledge." She emphasised that "working with data, indicators, and planning allows us to be more efficient and provide a higher quality experience for our visitors." García reaffirmed the municipal commitment to continue collaborating with INVAT·TUR to advance towards a smarter, more sustainable, and competitive tourist destination.
