The Pontevedra Provincial Council has launched two workshops aimed at enhancing the promotion of the Rías Baixas tourism destination. These events brought together around 140 professionals and companies from Castilla y León and Asturias with local tourism businesses.
In Valladolid, approximately thirty tourism companies from Pontevedra participated in a workshop that facilitated connections with 70 local businesses. A second event in Gijón involved nearly 70 Asturian companies, providing further opportunities for networking and collaboration.
These workshops were designed to showcase the tourism offerings of the Rías Baixas region, generate synergies, and explore new business opportunities. The events were attended by key figures from the Galician Tourism Cluster, including its president, Cesáreo Pardal, and treasurer, Alfonso Martínez, who also leads the Sanxenxo Tourism Business Consortium.
Other notable attendees included Jesús Vázquez Almuiña, the tourism deputy of Pontevedra, and Romina Fernández, director of Turismo Rías Baixas, who also participated in the Gijón event. Members of the Executive Council of the Galician Tourism Cluster were present as well, including Lorena Varela, manager of the Rías Baixas Wine Route, who had an exhibition table, and Diego Otero, director of Abramar Viajes, who helped organise the workshops.
These initiatives aim to strengthen commercial relationships between the tourism sector in Pontevedra and nearby markets, promoting joint efforts to enhance the destination and create new opportunities for the industry.
