Galicia outlines international tourism promotion strategy for 2027

Turismo de Galicia is advancing in the creation of its International Promotion Plan for 2027, which includes initiatives targeting nearly twenty foreign markets. The aim is to strengthen the region's positioning as a tourist destination and attract new visitor profiles.

The director of Turismo de Galicia, Xosé Merelles, recently held a series of meetings with representatives from the Spanish Tourism Offices abroad during the VI Turespaña Convention, which took place in Zaragoza from 20 to 22 October. These discussions facilitated the identification of new promotional opportunities and enhanced collaboration with key tourist source markets for Galicia.

Priority destinations include Portugal, the United States, Germany, Italy, France, and Ireland, which are among the main international markets for Galician tourism. The strategy will also focus on the opportunities presented by planned direct flight connections in 2027 with European cities such as Paris, Rome, Warsaw, Brussels, and Milan.

This planning is part of the Galicia Tourism Strategy 2030 and continues the more than 150 promotional actions carried out throughout 2026. The objective is to establish Galicia as a competitive, sustainable, and attractive destination year-round, highlighting its natural, cultural, heritage, and gastronomic wealth.
