Televisión Canaria is set to broadcast the Copa del Rey match between Club Deportivo Badajoz and Club Deportivo Tenerife live on Wednesday, 28 October, at 19:00. The match will be available through TDT (Digital Terrestrial Television) and simultaneously on the OTT platform Canarias Play and the Radio Televisión Canaria website, rtvc.es.
The encounter will take place at the Estadio Nuevo Vivero in Badajoz, a city in the Extremadura region of Spain. Commentary will be provided by Daniel Álvarez, with insights from former CD Tenerife player Aarón Darias.
CD Badajoz competes in the Segunda Federación (2nd RFEF) and is in Group 4, alongside the youth teams of CD Tenerife and UD Las Palmas, as well as Tamaraceite. Recently, Badajoz secured a 2-1 victory against CD Tenerife B and drew 0-0 with Las Palmas Atlético in Gran Canaria. They are scheduled to face Tamaraceite in early December.
CD Tenerife is the third Canary Islands team participating in this year's Copa del Rey, following matches played on 27 October by UD Las Palmas against RSC Alcalá and CD Atlético Paso against Córdoba CF. These matches are part of the first round of the Copa de Su Majestad El Rey, which includes teams from all national divisions and various regional categories of Spanish football.
From this round, 56 teams will advance and be re-drawn based on geographical proximity for the second round, which will take place during the first three days of November. Notably, the four teams competing in the Supercopa de España — FC Barcelona, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid CF, and Atlético de Madrid — will join the tournament in the Round of 16.
