The Escuela-Conservatorio Municipal de Música Fernando Remacha in Tudela will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special Santa Cecilia gala on 13 November at 19:00 in Teatro Gaztambide. This year’s event will feature the presentation of the Fernando Remacha Awards 2026, recognising the talent and dedication of its students.
The gala will bring together musicians from various generations, including a symphonic band composed of around 80 former students. The evening will be divided into three parts, starting with a performance by the Banda de Viento y Percusión of the Conservatorio Profesional, directed by Roberto Laborda.
Following this, the Fernando Remacha Awards will be presented, honouring students for their excellence in both instrumental performance and composition. This year, Mario Garijo Calahorra received the Composition Award for his work Sonata primordial, a piece for string quintet and piano that draws on classical musical language and aesthetics. Additionally, 22 students will be recognised in the Instrumental Performance category, divided into four age or study level categories.
The gala will conclude with a poignant performance by the Banda Sinfónica de Antiguos Alumnos, conducted by Isabel González Villar, celebrating the school’s rich history and the connections formed over the decades.
The Escuela-Conservatorio invites the public to join in this celebration of 50 years of musical education and cultural commitment. Admission is free with an invitation, which can be collected from the Servicio de Atención Ciudadana (SAC) starting 3 November.
