Galicia's tourism cluster highlights career opportunities at IMPULSA T job fair

The tourism cluster of Galicia recently took part in the second edition of the IMPULSA T job and entrepreneurship fair, organised by the University of A Coruña. The event aimed to connect students with professional development opportunities in the tourism sector and enhance the recognition of careers associated with this industry.

During the fair, the cluster emphasised the cross-cutting nature of the tourism sector and the diversity of professional profiles it encompasses, extending beyond traditional areas such as hospitality and accommodation. Career paths in hotel management, travel agencies, event organisation, marketing and communication, heritage management, destination planning, and entrepreneurship were highlighted as viable options for aspiring professionals.

Particular attention was given to the unique opportunities available in Galicia, thanks to its rich and diverse tourism resources. The Camino de Santiago, enogastronomy, active and nature tourism, marine experiences, and the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage offer various avenues for specialisation and professional growth across the region.

The cluster's participation also underscored the importance of education, language skills, and practical experience, along with essential competencies such as hospitality, communication, teamwork, and attention to detail, which are crucial for delivering quality tourism experiences.

This initiative aligns with one of the goals of the Galicia Tourism Strategy 2030: to enhance and dignify tourism professions, attract talent, and strengthen the connection between academia and the needs of the Galician tourism industry.
