The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced the suspension of matches scheduled for 3 November, which were part of the first and third rounds of the Copa del Rey Mapfre and Copa de la Reina Iberdrola. This decision comes in response to the death of Jesús de Miguel, a player for CD Tenerife.
Additionally, the official presentation of the under-21 national team’s match against Japan in Almendralejo has also been cancelled. The RFEF will provide updates in the coming days regarding the rescheduling of tournaments and the new match timings for the postponed games.
In a brief statement, the RFEF expressed that “the great family of Spanish football remains united in sorrow over this tragic loss and extends its love and support to the family, friends, and loved ones of Jesús de Miguel, as well as to the Tenerife team and their supporters during this very difficult time.”
