Antzerki Aroa concludes this Wednesday with the staging of 'Sidari', by the company Xake Produkzioak, at the Navarra Theatre School. The cycle, which promotes performing arts in Basque, has showcased five works of various genres throughout October and November.

The comedy 'Sidari' will be performed for the first time in Navarra at 19:00. Tickets can be purchased for a general price of eight euros, with a three-euro discount for those studying Basque. They are also available at the box office of the Navarra Theatre School, one hour before the performance begins.

'Sidari', written by Kepa Errasti and directed by Getari Etxegarai, features a cast that includes Iholdi Beristain and Hodei Arrastoa. The play tells the story of a couple in their thirties, Jone and Jokin, who decide to take an Interrail trip across Europe. During their journey, they meet an elderly couple who recommend visiting the Sidari canal on the island of Corfu to seal their love. As they share experiences, Jone begins to suspect that the elderly couple is, in fact, themselves four decades later.

The company employs humour and this impossible encounter within a train carriage to address themes such as expectations in relationships, the affection that remains after a breakup, and how to face old age without companionship, among others.

Xake Produkzioak is a performing arts company from Gipuzkoa, founded in 2015 by Kepa Errasti and Xabier Ormazabal. It has developed a distinctive style that tackles profound and philosophical themes with humour. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the most recognised producers in the local scene, with works such as 'Mami Lebrun', 'Sexberdinak', 'Lur', and 'Postdatarik gabeko gutunak'. The first two received accolades from Donostia Antzerkia and Donostia Kultura, respectively. 'Sidari', which premiered in Tolosa in September, is their latest production.
