The Correllengua, a grassroots initiative advocating for the Catalan language and culture, is set to host the Marxa per la Llengua on Saturday, 24 October, in Reus. This event will feature a relay-style walk throughout the city, divided into ten segments. Participation is free and does not require prior registration.

The event will commence at 11:00 in the Plaza de la Sagrada Familia in the Gaudí neighbourhood and will conclude at 13:00 in the Plaza de la Libertad, where journalist Coia Ballesté will read the manifesto. The musical performance will be provided by Pony Menut, a family-friendly version of Pony Pisador. A communal lunch will follow the event.

The city council of Reus is supporting this initiative through various departments. The Culture and Language Policy departments, along with the Municipal Institute Reus Cultura (IMRC), have contributed to the financing and coordination of logistics and promotion for the event. The local police, Guardia Urbana, have worked to ensure the route is safe, while the Municipal Brigades will set up necessary furniture, including a stage, tables, and chairs. Additionally, Aguas de Reus will provide a tent with water supply during the event.

The Education Department has also organised several activities as part of the Correllengua. The initiative enjoys support from the Tarragona Provincial Council and a wide range of local associations, including cultural, sports, civic, social, commercial, and trade union entities. The educational community of Reus, including both public and private schools, as well as the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), have also engaged in the event.

The aim of the Correllengua is to foster connections among entities and individuals dedicated to defending the Catalan language, while promoting activities from civil society to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the Catalan language vibrant and active across all areas.
