Premios Porxada celebrate local commerce in Granollers

The Ayuntamiento de Granollers and Gran Centre Granollers held the eighth edition of the Premios Porxada on 16 October 2026, at the Teatre Auditori de Granollers, during the Gala del Comercio de Granollers. The event recognised eleven local businesses and commercial projects for their history, commitment to the community, and contributions to the economic, social, and cultural dynamism of Granollers.

This year's awards introduced new distinctions linked to specific values of local commerce and hospitality, with eight categories including Proximity and trust, Craftsmanship and specialisation, Uniqueness and character, Community and neighbourhood life, Succession and continuity, Adaptation and innovation, Care and service to people, and Commitment to the city. Additionally, the awards retained the Honorary Award, the Historic Family Business Award, and the Award for Commitment to the Catalan Language.

The eleven recipients of the 2026 Premios Porxada were Pollería R. Brunat, Restaurante Naguabo, Biking Point, Les Tines, Subirats Alimentación, Agudo Stores, Belleza Esencial, Librería La Gralla, Floristería Pètals, Pastelería Colomer, and Familia Cumella. These recognitions highlighted aspects such as proximity and trust with customers, preservation of traditional crafts, capacity for innovation, generational succession, engagement with neighbourhood life, promotion of the Catalan language, and contributions to the commercial and cultural heritage of the city.

The jury for the Premios Porxada comprises representatives from the Ayuntamiento de Granollers, Gran Centre Granollers, and local business associations, as well as a representative from the Vallès Oriental Hospitality Guild and one from the Vallès Oriental Hotel Association. The Gala del Comercio de Granollers is a promotional initiative that connects commerce, the city, and its citizens. The Premios Porxada underscore the importance of commercial establishments as engines of economic activity and job creation, as well as vital elements for enlivening streets and neighbourhoods, fostering relationships and trust, and preserving the identity of Granollers.
