The seventh edition of Otoño Literario is set to continue with a series of four presentations this week, highlighting local culture and folklore. The events will be held from 3 to 6 November at the Palacio de la Isla and Los 7 Jardines in Cáceres, a historic city in western Spain known for its well-preserved medieval architecture.

On Tuesday 3 November, Ángel Barra will present his work “Callejero de Cáceres” at 18:30. This presentation was rescheduled from the previous week in memory of the victims of a tragic train accident in Toledo. The guide aims to help residents and visitors navigate the city while also encouraging a deeper appreciation of its history.

On Wednesday 4 November, Francisco Pedro Vázquez Núñez will unveil “Relatos y leyendas de Extremadura” at the same venue, also at 18:30. This book explores the ancient myths of Extremadura, delving into lesser-known stories that have survived through time, including pagan rituals and inexplicable sightings.

On Thursday 5 November, Rubén Núñez Quesada will present “La Mora Encantada de Cáceres: Origen, evolución y significado de la leyenda de la Mora de Mansaborá” at Los 7 Jardines at 19:30. This work traces the evolution of the legend over more than a century, examining various interpretations and retellings that have emerged.

Finally, on Friday 6 November, sisters Marta and Déborah Moreno Caballero will present two works: “El Libro Mágico” and “Perti Perti y el lío de las fiestas extremeñas” at the Palacio de la Isla at 18:30. “El Libro Mágico” features enchanting tales aimed at young readers, while “Perti Perti” tells the story of a troll who helps restore order during a chaotic festival in Extremadura.

Jorge Suárez, the city’s councillor for culture, has encouraged residents to attend these presentations to support local authors and engage with the rich literary tradition celebrated during Otoño Literario.
