The Tourism Department of the City Council of Miranda de Ebro is set to host a series of free guided tours aimed at showcasing the city's rich historical heritage. The tours will focus on the Historic Centre and the area known for its 19th-century expansion architecture.
Details of the guided tours
The guided tours of the Historic Centre, titled ‘Miranda Imprescindible’, will occur on Saturdays, 28 November and 19 December. Participants will explore key sites including the Interpretation Centre of Miranda Antigua, which features both a garden and the Castle, as well as Plaza de España and the interior of the Church of Santa María. Each tour, led by guides from the CIMA (Centre for Interpretation of Miranda Antiquity), will last approximately 90 minutes, starting at 12:00 from the reception of CIMA, located at Calle San Francisco, 10.
Additionally, the Tourism Department is promoting tours focused on the ‘Architecture of the expansion area’. Led by local architect Asier Martínez Aparicio, this route will delve into the history of Miranda through its notable architecture, covering landmarks such as the Church of Santa María, Casa de las Cadenas, Teatro Apolo, Church of San Nicolás, Plaza de Abastos, and various buildings along Vitoria and Ciudad de Toledo streets, constructed between the late 19th century and the onset of the Spanish Civil War. These tours will take place on 24 October and 14 November, also starting at 12:00 from Plaza de España.
Reservation and participation
Advance booking is mandatory and can only be made through www.visitasguiadasmiranda.es. Each tour will accommodate a maximum of 25 participants.
